Das Lineup hat die Renate selbst zusammen gestellt, aber alle Stadt nach Acht / Freiträume Besucher sind eingeladen, die Konferenz an Ort und Stelle ausklingen zu lassen. Sie nennen das Ganze „Pretty/ Ugly“ und meinen damit: No Lookism – und fast gar nicht ganz unernst: Let’s stay stupid forever!

Die Nachtlebenkonferenz Stadt Nach Acht findet ja auch tagsüber an Orten statt, in denen nachts gefeiert, getanzt und Musik genossen wird. Watergate, Musik & Frieden, das Ritter Butzke, der Holzmarkt und andere Orte spielten dabei schon eine Rolle. Heute und Morgen begeben wir uns noch ein Stückchen tiefer in den Underground…

Unsere heutige Party findet im Anschluss an das Side Panel „Female Future“ im Mensch Meier statt, ein Ort für eine politisch aktive, kreative junge Szene, wild und bunt und ohne Allüren. Das Mensch Meier, dessen Name sich aus einem alten Ton, Steine, Scherben Stück ableitet (und die zur Eröffung dort auch gespielt haben), ist nicht ganz so leicht zu finden, ein Rohdiamant etwas versteckt am Rande eines Gewerbegebiets, bei dem selbst mancher Urberliner rätselt, zu welchem Bezirk das nun  gehören mag…

Der Light Walk – in Analogie zu den in der Soundscape Forschung etablierten Sound Walks (z.B. Westerkamp 1974) – zielt darauf, unterschiedliche Lichtsituationen zu erkunden. Er lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf die künstliche Beleuchtung und ihre Wirkungen auf die Nachtstadt. Häufig wird die künstliche Beleuchtung „übersehen“ oder nur unterbewusst wahrgenommen, obwohl sie selbst für Sichtbarkeit sorgt.

Was wird gemacht?

Der Light Walk ist eine geführte „Tour“ entlang einer vorher festgelegten Route (s.u.). Am Anfang wird eine kurze Einführung gegeben sowie ein Fragebogen verteilt. Der Gang soll konzentriert auf die eigene Wahrnehmung in Ruhe erfolgen. An den vordefinierten Haltepunkten werden die jeweils wahrgenommenen Besonderheiten in den Fragebogen eingetragen. Am Schluss erfolgt eine kurze Gruppendiskussion: Worin liegen Gemeinsamkeiten, wo lassen sich Unterschiede feststellen? Und worin könnten diese begründet sein?

Clubs kommen, Clubs gehen. Manche sind schnell vergessen, manche brennen sich ins Gedächtnis ein und hinterlassen Spuren, in New York, in Berlin. GOODNIGHT BROOKLYN ist ein Abschiedsfilm für „Death by Audio“, eine Bastion des New Yorker Musik-Underground zwischen 2007 und 2014. Der Film zeigt wie aus einer kleinen Fabrik für handgefertigte Gitarren-Effektgeräte, angesiedelt in einer runtergekommenen Lagerhalle in Williamsburg/Brooklyn, ein Musikort mit zwischenzeitlich internationaler Bekanntheit wurde, ein Schmelztiegel der Subkultur, ein Magnet für viele Künstler und Musiker. Der Film ist ein Plädoyer dafür an seine eigenen Ideen zu glauben, eine Hymne auf die ungebrochene Kraft der DIY-Kultur, trotz oder gerade wegen der Widerstände sie in urbanen Räumen umzusetzen. — Auf Widerstand produktiv zu reagieren, war auch lange immer ein Markenzeichen der Macher des „White Trash Fast Food“ in Berlin. 2007, im selben Jahr, in dem in New York „Death by Audio“ entstand, drehte die Neuseeländerin Jess Feast, selbst Stammbesucherin des White Trash, eine frische und unterhaltsame Dokumentation über den legendären, für Berlin stilbildenden Burger-Bar-Clubladen, damals noch am Standort Torstraße, in einem ehemaligen Chinarestaurant, alter DDR-Plattenbau. Der Titel COWBOYS AND COMMUNISTS legt es nahe: In dem Film geht es auch um einen „Kampf der Kulturen“, rockende, kochende Cowboys vs. eingefleischte Kommunisten. Gerade im Nachhinein wirken diese Fronten bizarr und fast putzig, herzlich menschlich im Vergleich zu den heutigen, eiskalten Kapitalinteressen der Investoren.

Betreiber- und Entwickler*innen von Immobilien, die als Kulturorte genutzt werden bzw. eventuell dazu geeignet wären, haben einen erheblichen Anteil an der soziokulturellen Identität Berlins. Unter Beteiligung der Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Wohnen bemüht sich Stadt Nach Acht darum, eine Schnittstelle zwischen ambitionierten Kollektiven und Kulturunternehmer*innen sowie Immobilienentwickler*innen und -betreiber*innen in Berlin aufbauen.

But not only Night-Mayors and Night-Ambassadors play an important role in representing the night activities of a city. Be yourself part of a public meeting of the international representatives of the night, listen to their topics and have the unique opportunity to ask questions to the capitols‘ representatives of the night.

Award Ceremony Future Party Lab – Ideas Competition

Together with Clubliebe e.V., an association developing concepts and promoting aspects of sustainability in clubs and nightlife, Clubcommission Berlin has been a driving force behind the common FUTURE PARTY LAB program for years. With this series of events club owners, sustainability experts and club guests are invited to co-create innovative solutions to shape the future of clubbing and party in a sustainable way. The Future Party Lab is accompanied by an ideas competition that honours outstanding concepts aiming to make nightlife more environmentally and climate friendly. During the award ceremony, the winners of the three categories – initiatives, companies and lighthouse projects – will be presented.

Mit diesem feministischen Vorabendprogramm wollen wir bestehende Strukturen aufbrechen und Frauen/ Queers/ Non-Binäre Menschen dazu ermutigen aktiv zu werden – als DJ*, Booker*in, Veranstaltungsorganisator*in und vieles mehr. Tauscht euch mit Vertreter*innen von Kollektiven und Netzwerken aus und erhaltet Anregungen und Motivation die Nacht mitzugestalten. Im Anschluss feiern wir bei Female Future Friday w/ Dana Ruh, Ena Lind, Natascha Kann etc. in Kooperation mit dem Sonntagsinstitut.

Let’s break existing boundaries and empower females/ queers/ non-binaries to become active and participate in the electronic music scene – whether they like to work as dj, booker, event organizer or else. We kindly invite to an evening of exchange with representatives of feminist/ female collectives and networks where we’ll get inspiration and motivation to shape the nightlife. After the pre-evening event the night goes on with our Female Future Friday w/ Dana Ruh, Ena Lind, Natascha Kann etc., organized in cooperation with the Sonntagsinstitut collectice.

Holt euch Mut und Inspiration von fünf interessanten Persönlichkeiten.

Representatives from different collectives, networks and platforms are invited to talk about their personal careers and incitements. From obstacles to future plans these women* will portray their first-hand experiences in the field of music. Get encouragement and inspiration from five interesting personalities that have been active in the nightlife for years.

Teilhabe ist das Ziel – der Weg dahin heißt Arbeitsbedingungen und Jobmöglichkeiten. Frauen* sind besonderen Hürden in ihren Karrieren ausgesetzt. Aber andere haben diese bereits gemeistert und geben Einblicke in ihren Alltag als Booker*in, Clubbetreiber*in, Promoter*in, Labelmanager*in, DJ etc. Sie beantworten Fragen wie: Wo und wie fängt man an? Welche Jobs gibt es überhaupt und wie baut man sich ein Netzwerk auf, erhält Bookings, bringt sich ein ins Nachtleben?

Welche Fragen beschäftigen euch? Bringt diese zur Diskussionsrunde / Workshop mit und erfahrt wie ihr die Nacht mitgestalten könnt.

Participation is the goal – the way to get there is called working conditions and job opportunities. Especially women* are exposed to particular obstacles in their careers. But others have already overcome these difficulties and will share their knowledge of what it takes to successfully participate. They will give insights into their everyday life as a booker, club owner, promoter, label manager, DJ etc. and answer questions like: Where and how do you start? What jobs are out there, how to build a network, get bookings and participate in the music world?

What are your important questions? Bring them to the discussion / workshop and learn how you can shape the nightlife.

Hier geht es um Strategien zur Verbreitung feministischer Werte und die Stärkung feministischer Netzwerke im elektronischen Musikbereich. Wir alle wissen, dass immer noch Grenzen und Vorurteile in den Köpfen einiger Menschen bestehen. Dies wurde oft genug besprochen. Aber wir wollen nach echten Lösungsansätzen suchen! Was könnt ihr selber beitragen? Welche Veränderungen sind bereits geschehen und was kann in der Zukunft nachhaltig für ein faires Selbstverständnis getan werden? Daran wollen wir gemeinsam arbeiten, egal ob jung oder alt, schon langjährig im Musikbusiness tätig oder ganz frisch dabei.

This is about strategies for the wide distribution of feminist values and the empowerment of feminist networks in the music business. We all know that there are still existing boundaries in some people’s head’s. That has been discussed often enough. But we want to look for real solution approaches! What can you bring to the party? What does it take for a real change of the situation, what changes have already been made and what can we do for the future? We want to build something up together – no matter if you are young, older, active in the music business for several years or a newbie.

Probiert euch hinter den Turntables aus und bringt gerne eure eigene Lieblingsmusik mit – auf Vinyl oder USB. Egal ob Neueinsteiger*in oder Halbprofi, Hauptsache ihr habt Bock – denn die Musikszene braucht mehr coole und mutige Frauen* hinter den Plattentellern.

Fem. from Leipzig will give you all the answers you need and an introduction to the technics. Learn how to use turntables and bring your own favorite music – on vinyl or USB. Because the music scene needs more cool and courageous women* behind the turntables.

The on-site chemical analysis takes place in the checkit! analysis truck, which was modified to function as a full-featured laboratory. A method called UHPLC-DAD-MS (Ultra high performance liquid chromatography – diode array detection – mass spectrometry) is utilised to identify and quantify the content of recreational drugs. The system consists of four UHPLC-DAD systems run in parallel and one mass spectrometer to identify and discriminate new compounds and complex substance mixtures. After 15 minutes of sample preparation, analysis, interpretation and evaluation, the individual results are presented to the drug-users together with counselling, advice and support by the psychosocial team. With this setup, 30 samples can be processed per hour and over 100 samples per night, resulting in more than 10.000 drug samples analysed by checkit! so far. The insights of 12 drug checking nights each year, enables the checkit! team to understand current developments of the drug market, consumption trends and patterns and therefore to provide optimal and customised harm reduction measures for users of recreational drugs in Vienna.
