Why is everybody talking about the techno club Bassiani in Tiflis, Georgia? This talk will concentrate on the importance of the club in relation to the growing resistance movement against repression and discrimination, especially after the dramatic anti-homophobia rallies of May 17th, 2013. How did they go from collective partying to a unified political struggle for emancipation? How and why did dancing lead to political action? Why does every single Bassiani night feel like a „last dance“ for the attendees, and what does it mean to dance with an urgency and when does dancing become a political act?
