Alkohol ist und bleibt die Partydroge Nr. 1. Alkohol hat nicht immer nur einen positiven Einfluss auf die Stimmung der Mehrheit der Partygäste, dessen Verkauf finanziert auch Kulturanlässe in der Nacht. Trotz des Stellenwertes von Alkohol in unserer Gesellschaft, dreht sich die öffentliche Diskussion nicht selten um die Probleme des Alkoholkonsums, seien es nun Alkoholvergiftungen Jugendlicher am Wochenende oder gewaltsame Auseinandersetzungen unter Alkoholeinfluss. Dadurch entsteht ein verzerrtes, gar problematisierendes Bild. Ziel des Panels «Alkohol the Spirit of the Night 2.0» ist es, den problematischen Blickwinkel wieder zu öffnen, den Fokus auf die Realität und aktuelle Veränderungen zu legen. 

Alcohol has long since been the party drug number 1. It not only has a positive influence on the mood of most partygoers, but it’s sale also helps to finance cultural nightlife occasions. Despite it’s status in our society, the problems associated with alcohol consumption are often at the centre of public health discussions. From alcohol poisoning in minors to violent altercations which arise under the influence of alcohol, a distorted, even problematic image is created. The aim of the panel “Alcohol the Spirit of the Night 2.0” is to reassess this problematic perspective, and to shift the focus towards the reality of the issue and current changes.
